INTRODUCTION

Shiori, is played by Misaki Hattori, who won the Best New Actor Award at the 2020 Japan Academy Awards for her role in the film Midnight Swan. This is her first lead role in a feature film. Shiori, a high school student with developmental disabilities who, despite facing numerous obstacles, bravely pursues her dreams.
Shiori’s older sister, Fumi, is portrayed by Sae Okazaki, who captures the delicate emotions of being torn between her desire to support her sister and the harsh realities of life. The role of their father, Yasutaka, who struggles with the looming closure of the family’s textile factory while watching over his daughters, is played by Eisaku Yoshida.
This moving story, woven together by a tapestry of unique personalities and talents, is like high-quality wool intricately woven in the Bishu region, enveloping viewers in warmth and tenderness.

STORY

The Grand Prize is 3 million yen, product commercialization of the design, and a 2-week training program in Paris! Participation Requirements: The design must be drawn by the participants themselves, and they must provide a model that suits the clothing’s image.
High school student Shiori wakes up every morning at 7 a.m. to the cheerful sound of the weaving loom, which serves as her alarm clock. She is bright and kind to everyone, but she has strong preferences when it comes to daily habits, such as the arrangement of meals or the way she walks, and often struggles with things that don’t fit her routine. One day, Shiori’s best friend, Mariko, enters the fashion design Shiori created into the school’s fashion competition. Furthermore, at Mariko’s suggestion, they decide to submit the design to a fashion show in Ichinomiya City.
With Mariko’s help, Shiori begins her journey of creating clothes. However, Shiori’s older sister, Fumi, who has experienced her own setbacks in the past, feels conflicted between wanting to support Shiori and fearing she might face the same disappointments. Their father, Yasutaka, fears Shiori will be hurt and strongly opposes the idea. Yet, through her challenge of making clothes, Shiori finds herself connecting with various people, and gradually, a certain feeling begins to grow stronger within her...
