INTRODUCTION

The main character, Akito is played by Yusei Yagi（FANTASTICS） who has left a vivid impression with high reputation in "My Beautiful Man" (2021/MBS drama, 2023/movie version). Last year 2023, this popular actor has worked on 2 movies and 5 dramas, such as "Konkatsu 1000 Knocks" (Fuji Television group) in which he made the main cast. While he has shown presence as the vocal of FANTASTICS, he has also broadened his horizons to the world of movie and drama. Yagi will break new ground by playing Akito, a boy who aims to enter music college but finds himself trapped in a conflict because of his father’s strong disapproval.
Young and upcoming casts have been called for this movie. The role of Haruhi is played by Yuki Inoue who has both experience in theater and audiovisual. He has had his first leading role in Ultraman Taiga (2019/Television Tokyo group). The character, Haruhi grew up physically weak and was protected by his friends. With evanescence and warmth, Inoue will bring out the gentlest, yet “strong” character within Haruhi.
Kaito Sakurai who has played the leading role in "Ao Haru Ride"（2023/WOWOW） will play Natsuki. It has been announced that he will also play Aqua, the leading role in the feature film, "Oshi No Ko". With Sakurai’s inherent subtlety, he plays Natsuki, an awkward boy who cannot listen to his friends’ advice, and has given up his dream to become a soccer player because of his father’s illness.
Yukio is played by Taiga Tsubaki who is a member of the popular boy’s group, IMP. that made a global release debut in August 2023. Though Yukio is carefree by nature, he is shocked to find out an unexpected secret about his father. We look forward to how Tsubaki will tackle this role.
This is the movie version of the popular stage reading, "僕らは人生で一回だけ魔法が使える"
(Bokuraha Jinseide Ikkaidake Mahouga Tsukaeru), which has been revived many times since its first performance in 2019.
With enthusiasm, Osamu Suzuki the original writer for the play and also script writer for this film know for his work in SHINJUKU SWAN, ONE PIECE FILM Z, The Handsome Suit transforms the scenes and dialogue of the original stage reading play, into a beautiful, bittersweet, and heartwarming teen movie.
A story about innocent boys reaching maturity through the power of “magic”
How will they use their magic during the limited period of 2 years? At life’s turning point of 18 to 20, the 4 boys gradually grow into their adulthood, experiencing life’s hardships and conflict with each other. A thrilling plot where the existence of magic sheds light to the secret of the men in the village. When the truth of the magic is revealed, it will bring tears to the eyes of our audience.

STORY

The story takes place in a small village in the country. When the boys in this village turn 18, they are told that they can use magic once in their lifetime. On one condition. They need to use this power during the 2 years until they turn 20. They cannot know what the grownup men in the village used magic for in the past, until after they’ve used it themselves. Akito and his 3 other high school friends start thinking about ways to use their magic. The process becomes an unforgettable experience, and the heartwarming story reaches its climax.
