Starring Tomoko Yamaguchi and Etsushi Toyokawa, this unconventional love story immediately caused a stir upon its exclusive one-week release at Cine Switch Ginza in October 1994, drawing long lines day after day despite being a late-night screening. Furthermore, during its roadshow release at Theatre Shinjuku in August of the following year, it became a massive hit that broke theater attendance records, leading to a flood of requests for rescreenings. This masterpiece, which continues to boast a passionate following to this day, is now brought back to life across time with a 4K remaster.
STORY
Moemi (Tomoko Yamaguchi) and Yukio (Etsushi Toyokawa) live in a home that resembles an atelier. One day, Moemi begins to display the inexplicable behavior of tying up the objects around her with string. Alarmed after she ties up their pet turtle and her own hands while knitting, Yukio takes her to see a psychiatrist (Tomorowo Taguchi). Upon examination, she is diagnosed with "Obsessive-Compulsive Binding Syndrome." As her symptoms progress, Moemi eventually starts tying up things that cannot even be seen.
